I'm nearing completion of the next chapter of On Duty Contact but I was having trouble visualizing and describing Damien Holt's home, so I looked around on the web and found some house plans which were close to what I had in mind. I added some extra rooms and changed some other aspects of it as well as highlighting the locations of windows and doors (except for closets).
I also thought something like this would be useful for readers to at least understand the layout of the house. It isn't to scale and is a little bit rough around the edges but I think it will do. It doesn't show the placement of all the furniture but I have detailed that below (Except laundry and kitchen because thats pretty self explanatory).
Front Room:
Just to the left of the door is the Front Room, which consists of a glass coffee table with two sofas lining either side of it. Against the wall beside the closet is a stereo system compatible with CD's and digital music. Damien's music choices are extremely varied, though mostly classic rock and hits from the 80's and 90's.
Entertainment Room:
A flat screen television hangs from the wall facing the dinning room along with a video game console with a couch sitting a short distance from it. Behind the couch just in front of the dinning room entrance is a pool table where Damien and Bryan have often jousted one and other. Against the wall that separates the Front room from the Entertainment room is drinks cabinet which contains various liquors.
Dinning Room:
A simple wooden table with space for six persons (though rarely used).
Bedroom:
The second bedroom of the house is mainly used for storage and as a computer room.
Master Bedroom:
Damien's bedroom. A king sized bed sits with the headrest against the back wall of the house. Along with drawers, there are two bookcases, one beside the window near the closet and the other is centered on the right hand wall. Inside the closet behind the clothes rack is a gunsafe containing two 12-gauge Remington Shotguns and an S & M .40 pistol, plus ammunition.
