This was done with Photoshop CS3, but you should be able to use it with any art program that uses layers. If you use an art program that doesn't have the "lock transparency" feature, if you're real careful, it shouldn't make too much difference.

I decided to update a little bit and give you all a short but informative tutorial on how I color the eyes of my characters. About the only thing I vary from picture to picture is the softness of the brush I use. I did this with a very hard edged brush so you could see exactly where I put my colors.
