This is awesome, in all seriousness, though! I love the designs on the wings and the long tail feathers!

I hope that yi qi wasn't a one of a kind species would be neat to discover one of its kind about the size of a hawk once existed somewhere in the cretaceous picking off small dinosaurs and mammals. :)

Well, there's already several scansoriopterygids, we just never discovered -that- about them. It's not like this thing appeared out of nowhere, it's likely others in it's lineage were pretty similar with the wing thing.

It's not a flier though. It can't fly, doesn't have the muscles/structure for it. Probably 'fell with style'.

well I know there where other scansoriopterygids but I somewhat consider yi qi to be in a family of its own with scansoriopterygids being a very close relative about as close as old world monkeys are related to new world monkeys extremely similar but with noticeable differences. but maybe they will find some new skeletons of existing members of that species group (spelling it is a pain x.x) and it will turn out they had the same specialized wrist bone that yi qi had it just didn't fossilize well enough due to it being fragile. as for the picture I like the false eyes on the wings :)
