Oh jeez, was this really left over two months ago?! I'm SO sorry, Narffet! ;___; I should have replied to you a long time ago!
I'm sooo happy that you like it! The kind of markers I use varies.. Sometimes I use Prismacolor markers.. I really like the broad nib on those, they can cover really large areas or really small areas depending on how you hold the marker. : D But I also use Copics and Trias sometimes, it kind of depends on what markers are on sale at whichever store I'm at at the time. Over all, Prismacolor markers seem to be the cheapest, but sometimes Copics are a really good price, too.
http://www.carpediemstore.com/ has a LOT of different kinds of markers for REALLY good prices right now! : D

Cool! Just let me know whenever you're ready. ^__^ *HUG*
Thank you so much! It makes me feel very happy that you think so. ^^
Rubbing alcohol is really strong / potent stuff, but shouldn't be used in large amounts on very thin paper (it can put holes in it!). I would recommend it on illustration board or canvas. It can lift anything off, no matter how permanent.
I actually don't have very much experience with using rubbing alcohol as a 'medium'. You could probably find more information on how to use it through google or something. I'm still experimenting.

Hee!! I'm so happy to hear that. VERY, VERY happy! I have to say, this is my personal favorite so far. I think I was really craving something 'dark', and I pulled it off?
I simultaneously want to KEEP THIS and send this to you at the same time. *snickers* Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to you seeing this in person. XD Wooo!!
You're soooo welcome, dear. Thank you SO MUCH for commissioning me!! *squeezes!*

This was posted 5 days ago? How the hell did I not see it then?! Wow I'm blind!
But not anymore! And thank goodness too. Hard to appreciate good artwork when all you see is black :P
Anyways! Oh my god this is gorgeous! Does he know he's got candy stuck in his mane/tail? But oh man, the horn designs, the bridgeplates, the double ears and jaws, the claw, the whiskers, and oh my god those gorgeous patterns in white! Hope he doesn't eat the innocence! She looks too cute to be devoured! :P

Ah, well, I'm always looking for ways to improve my work! I think there are always ways for artists to improve. Even trying new things is, imho, improvement. : D I'm so, so happy that you like it!!
Hmm, the head was done with a combination of different media. There's brush pen in there (first), and then layers of marker (Prismacolor brand, to be exact) allowed to dry, then colored pencil (Prismacolor, again!) and, finally, white ink! I love white ink. @_@

I was unaware there was such a thing as white ink. Where does one obtain this wondrous item?
I sadly cannot afford Prismacolor, but I do well with Conte or ... well I can't remember the brand, but they come in a nice tin and have soft color, chalk pencils! Is so fun. I miss playing with chalk pencils. Maybe after I finish this webpage I will get a new set of chalks instead of materials for a cloak.

Ah! I'll tell you first, to not buy Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay white india ink. Heh, I was told it would be a really thick white. Turns out it is almost entirely transparent, so using it over anything is pretty much a waste, as it doesn't show up. Erm, I'm mostly ticked because I kept getting it recommended to me.. Fff.
What you should get is a sakura gelly roll, white pen. Wonderful, white pen! I'm still trying to find a jar of white ink that is truly opaque, but thusfar, my search has been unsuccessful. :C
I love working with chalks! : D They're very fun, but I end up getting fingerprints all over it somehow, and they end up showing up VERY much. Eek! How do you keep from getting your own fingerprints everywhere? I'd try washing my hands a lot, but that didn't help.. Maybe I just need to be more careful. ^^;
Markers in general are very expensive things, oi. That and they're not even meant to be permanent, they fade pretty darned quickly, especially when compared to other cheaper media, like watercolors or colored pencils. Argh! Frustrating.

I try not to move my hands a lot, either that or not put them down. The latter burns my elbow out quick though. Sometimes I wear gloves, but if I use a pencil where the chalk is too loose that won't help either. With gloves, you might smudge, but it won't be a fingerprint. Also, every time I notice I did leave a fingerprint, I take a gum eraser to it. If it's on top of color and I haven't applied fixative yet, I just color over it a little. It'll usually blend right in. Sometimes it gives me an idea for a highlight, though, so it's not all bad. :D
I don't usually go into art thinking of the end piece.

thank you so much!! That makes me feel so happy. : D I had a lot of fun with this one, I think it might be my personal favorite piece at the moment. I like earthy tones a lot. :D
The little jewels were added at the last minute actually, because I wanted a bit more color over all; I'm glad it turned out looking OK! *hugs!*
