my cat had trouble drinking whilst wearing the cone at first, until she worked out how to scoop it up in the cone and drink it off it...

My wife loves this comic more than any other (possible exception for a tie would be the one with Shiva on a leash). This is exactly what our cat Kodiak would do when he had the cone of shame to prevent him from chewing on a leg cast (which he still managed to mess up enough it had to be redone once every 2-3 weeks). Though when he finished he always managed to get a couple of pieces stuck in the cone. The he would sit in the kitchen and try to catch them for 45 minutes or so (he's sweet, but dumb as a post....and that remark may be an insult to posts =).
