Endless Realms player class - Knight
Player class artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
Here we have ye olde classic mounted knight, ie. the living tank/unstoppable juggernaut. In this particular instance, we have a dengu (one of those adorably squat little mole people), although often underestimated for their diminuitive size, whose tough, stocky frame actually makes them well-suited to the task. He's too small for a warhorse, so gets a battle boar instead which, I think, is actually a lot cooler ;P

Are they? Well, I'm all for that :V
But yeah, in all seriousness, we have a few small-sized races in the game, and the devs felt horses and pnoies would be too large for them, figured boars/pigs would make decent alternative mounts - smart, can bond with people, and easy to feed (omnivorous and can eat most anything)... plus boars are pretty fearsome and would make scary warmounts :b

To be fair, most hooved animals are not to be messed with (being kicked or trampled by a horse is serious business :b), but yeah. Boars are still awesome :b If I were small enough to choose between either a boar or one of those miniature ponies, I'd totally pick the boar (assuming it was trained and wouldn't try to gore me :V)
Definitely an interesting way of giving a short stature race a war mount. This I definitely have to like here.
If I were the enemy facing one of these, I wouldn't know which to be more fearful of, the fact that I'm being charged by heavy armoured cavalry or the fact that I'm being charged by something that is more often served up as bacon.

Thank you very much :) It's funny, some of the development team thought it was a bad idea originally. "Pig mounts? OMGWTF so stupid :V Who could take that seriously?" But really, how can you NOT take a boar seriously? Look at it! http://yolopackage.com/images/momen.....d-hunted/5.jpg
Mm, bacon. On the plus side, if your mount dies, you're all set for a killer luau afterwards in its honour!
