I don't know. I wonder if it's a matter of having a big enough environment to live in. There was footage of a Vixen named "Chuckles" on YouTube where the rescued vixen would run around inside her enclosure like crazy when her caretakers came in. She was apparently hit by a car when she was a tiny Kit and was nursed back to health. She was a little "Odd" and acted like a dog puppy instead of a wild Vixen, however she was very good at teaching orphaned cubs on the ways of being foxes.
