well, the side bar is great, but you know what's better?

not having the side bar. why can't it be a top bar or a bottom bar or a no-bar? why does it have to be a SIDE bar?

tbh im actually in favor of their future plans for the space, a sort of gallery preview i believe it was, i think that'd be cool, but it doesnt belong in the submission art space, its more suited below the image. how i think it should be is ad at the top, the art image, ad below the image, this "sidebar" below that ad, and then the comments section. nice, clean and simple.

well, I have the silly imvu and google ad servers blocked via IP, so I'll never get them anyways. my pages are always nice and tidy and not full of junk. I could see a maybe "next / previous in gallery" or a list of "most recent artists posts" posted there, maybe 7 at the most, but it does shrink the picture down a bit which is disappointing (especially for those on big monitors) as for the ads, if I was getting them, I'd expect them at the bottom of the page where no one looks. FA's ad server has been blocked for a couple years for me now. (first was ox.furaffinity.net, then changed to rv.furaffinity.net) but still. I'm not interested in advertisements when I'm looking at my porn, or other inspirations for art.

apologies for the little rant there, but I'm sure a lot of fa agrees the same way.

The sidebar is bad enough for me to bother putting adblock on my tablet. At least it got rid of the glaring ads. It's still horrible

it messes with my sense of balance, cuz this sort of lay out goes against everything i was taught in web design. the ads i can deal with, the poor design irritates me a lot x-x

It might just be me but, the design makes me think of those shady sites that f-up your computer. Kinda makes it embarrassing to post on here

It seems everyone hates it. And I agree!!
It's funny though, I couldn't understand why it was there until I realized I'm blocking ads and that's why it looks so empty.
