So a friend of mine recently got a keypad and he was asking me for tips on how to lay out his own. I decided to make this as sort of a helpful tool in figuring out my mental process with laying out the keys I use and I figured that it might be helpful to those of you who have keypads or are even considering them to improve the speed of your workflow.
Keypads can be a little pricey (mine was about 80 bucks I think?) but it's extremely useful to have all of your tools under your fingers and only a finger tap away without having to move your hands. It also helps that if you want, you could also allow your pinky to sit on a CTRL or ALT key and essentially double the number of tools you have available to you, changing your V key to a CTRL+V and so forth (though this is something I used more for gaming, since with art there aren't -that- many tools/functions that I use that I would need to program an addition 20 different keys. I'd probably end up spending more time trying to figure out which is which than if I just found it in the menus lol). They're also very portable, for those of you who are trying to increase your workspeed while using tablets (I originally got mine for use with my Surface Pro 3).
Hope this helps!

Hm. Well it's been very nice for me, so I'd recommend it, yeah. It made playing FFXIV pretty easy to get into and not having to use the keyboard (If I was doing pretty leisurely stuff I only had to use the mouse to click items, but I could play with one hand pretty easy). The downside (if I can really think of any) is that if you chat a lot on mmos and whatnot, you need to keep moving your hands back to the keyboard. But yeah, overall I'd say it's definitely worthwhile to get if you have the money to do so. I think I would also consider if you can find one with mechanical keys (mine doesn't have them), since that click is pretty satisfying.
I don't know, I draw a lot so I get my money's worth for sure, though most of my gaming is done with a controller if possible, or just clicking (I play a lot of Civ/4X type games), but if you do anything with a lot of keystrokes, you'll definitely see the difference there, alone.
It also has a cloud account aspect, so if you plug it into any other pcs, laptops, tablets, etc that you have, you don't have to re-do your keys all over again, too, just as an fyi.

seems pretty solid, i have my ps4 controller i could use for games if i choose to but I'm used to both controls easyily (not sure if they have support for it on pc yet) i'll just pick it up with the keyboard as a added bonus I'm pretty much splurging i honestly don't need every little bit but its for added benefit of not regretting it later if i actually really need it. I'm spending so much anyways might as well throw it in lolz
