This is my first project ive been working on in school this year with my new Maya 3D class, and im surprised at how fast the modeling got finished.
I feel like ive increased my modeling speed to less than HALF of what it usually takes me to... ^.=.^;;;
hopefully i'll have a body to go with this head soon enough XD

Shout out to my friend Ifus for making a VERY effective suggestion with the muzzle ;)

Your right that your instructors should know the program, but if you dont start branching out on your own and learn the programs yourself youll fall when you leave the course. Its sad to say that most tutors knowledge (unless they keep up to date ) is sadly lacking or out of date. Not all teachers I should say, but if you learn only what your taught youll only be at best a clone of someone whos been in the business alot longer then you.
I like your look and you must try to absorb as much knowledge off your tutors as possible, but if you dont start to branch out and look at other alternatives you will find it hard to get work in the industry later.
Maya is a good program to use in terms of modelling (along with 3dsmax) but look at others like mudbox/zbrush/blender. Also sign yourself up to some of the better known sites of those programs and talk to the people on the forums there.
Sorry if Im bablling stuff you already know, but its late and I dont want to see someone fall into the same thing I did (and many of my classmates), we relied too much on our tutors and it cost me a year of self tuition to get the skills I was adleast starting to accept as useable.
Anyway keep up the good work Ill keep a eye on your progress.
Sincerely
TDW
