Wave after wave, crashing, eroding, breaking down. What once was beneath rose at the end of subduction, continuously rising, yet the sea fights ever to reclaim what was taken, and bit by bit, the ocean will win. Softer rock crumbles first, leaving arches, then sea stacks, then rocks, reefs and finally sea floor.
