actually I was originally inspired by Civ4 leaderhead portraits. but I guess starcraft would be a better match since all the portraits in it are sprites.

I guess it looks more difficult to me because I don't know much about computer assisted renderings...I was among the last generation that took drafting,drawing courses with traditional tools.
