pretty sure i''m the only one who's going to use this aha... but uploading it anyway because im self-centered
today i played around with chirr's wing anatomy! i know that aspects of this are not 100% accurate to real moths, but i think it's fair to adapt things for a hybrid mammal/insect character. that said, feel free to let me know if anything here seems completely anatomically ridiculous
the fully extended diagram is as high as they can go using only chirr's muscles, but if someone tugged on them they could probably get them to go a little higher (kinda like how most people can't lift their leg that high using their own strength, but if they rest it on a support it will stretch it a lot further)
another important note about wing movemet that i forgot to draw is that because they're a moth, chirr's wings will almost always be horizontal to their body. they can flap them out away from their body and even hold them in that position, but it's not super comfortable long-term. they may hold their wings up that way a bit if they're extremely tense, but otherwise the wings will lie close to horizontal 95% of the time. shifting the wings up and down like in the diagrams is much more common.
also about nerve sensation - there are basically no nerves on the outer margin of the wing, so if someone pinched it chirr wouldn't notice, but if they tugged on it it would be pulling on the sensitive basal area so they would be able to feel it
....and that's today's infordump on More Than You Ever Wanted to Know About Moth Griffins, featuring Chirr. it must be such a joy to watch me here on furaffinity.net, honestly
ALSO YO sorry for not making this entirely colorblind friendly, that was my bad (though again, omg, who else is actually gonna use this)
