She's Contrail's mother. As an astronomer, she actually discovered one of Saturn's moons and got it named after her. Ostensibly an Earth Pony, she actually had her Pegasus wings removed at a low point in her life (not going into those details yet). Her depression drove her to a Earth Pony-based spiritual group. There she was wed to one of the Elders, who already had three wives, a common practice of this particular group. Contrail is her only foal, though he was raised with eight other children, not to mention the entire cloistered community.

At some point (I have yet to determine) she distances herself from said religious community and begins to get back to her scientific beginnings. Now without wings, she likes to cloud hop at night when nobody can see. She's actively seeking a strong stallion Pegasus that can carry her around the sky, among other activities of course ;3

While Contrail is an Earth Pony by physicality, he did inherit the ability to walk on clouds, as well as a desire to be in the air.
