I spend too much time trying to find Journey to the West in book form. >.< So I know what you mean. BTW have you read those books? The start is soo confusing, but that might be because of dyslexia makes reading harder for me.

I like it a lot! I love the story of the monkey king! If you gender bend others then I recommend you continue the Asian folktale theme!
