An impish monster character (I named the species Lumen I think???) I made years ago and never really used for it's intended purpose! I figured someone else might want them.

Lumen Species Info:
Lumens have prominent glands on their ankles that can leak a glowing fluid when they want to leave behind glowing footprints. The tail and ear tubes are storage for extra glow fluid and they can also secrete it from their wrist glands, mouth, nose, and tear ducts at will. The purpose this serves is unknown but Lumens like doing it and it tends to make them easily track-able. They constantly regenerate fluid and it's rare they run out. It's just as easily producible as saliva or sweat. If they do start to run out, drinking some water will easily replenish it. They have very large retractable talons on their hands and feet, long glowing tongues, and sharp teeth.

They are all born biologically agender but can identify as agender, male, female, intersex, or anything else in the gender spectrum. They "morph" over time as they grow to take on a form that is more fitting to what they personally identify fits their gender identity. If they change their minds on this decision they can change again but the change takes about 2 years to be completed each time (without supplements.) They can only make their first morph after they have hit puberty which for them is at 12 years of age.

They tend to live to be around 100 years old. They have fast metabolisms and always appear to be skinny no matter how much they eat, as a result they have a voracious appetite. They are omnivores but prefer to eat mostly meat over vegetables and only start sourcing vegetables when meat is not available. They are highly intelligent beings and would be considered sapient. They are nocturnal creatures and find it hard to see in daylight.

When it becomes time to attract a mate, Lumens will cover their entire bodies in their glowing fluid by grooming it into their thick fur (which typically takes a day to do). The brighter the lumen, the more attractive it is to a mate! The can have any sexual orientation and attracting a mate isn't necessarily meant for reproduction.

Their bodies are completely covered in fur aside from the pads on their hands and feet. Their fur is very thick and typically all black, dark gray, or white. They are sometimes very dark shades of colors and can have spotted and swirled markings. All babies are born ash-gray and develop their adult coats over the first year of their life.
