When 26 was pursued by a fox once again, he thought he was doomed until he saw a human in a very colourful coat walk into a blue box. Figuring foxes usually didn't want to come too close to humans, 26 tried to climb onto the box. To his surprise, it made a loud 'VWORP! VWORP!" noise, and began to disappear with him along with it. As the time vortex roared around him, he lost his grip and fell into the vortex, disappearing into the swirling chaos.
He landed hard on the ground. Dazed, he looked up and found the Sun was shining down brightly on him. The forest had changed, all the grass was gone, but what 26 was most focussed on was the creature looking at him. It was covered in a fluffy pack of feathers, almost as colourful as the coat of the human whose box had brought him here, but it didn't look as though it could fly. It had an awful lot of razor-sharp teeth and a split tongue.
26 squeaked in surprise. "Wh-what are you? A bird?"
Two large, red eyes peered back at him inquisitively, as the creature raised her bright red crest of feathers. "I'm a Troödon, little mammal."
"A dinosaur?!"
"But where did you come from? You woke me up, falling from the sky like that!" Her forked tongue flitted out, touching 26's face.
"Uhhh..." he stepped away, only to find himself backed against a rock. "I- I just dropped in, miss d-dinosaur. Er, I-I'll go now."
A claw at the end of a wing-like arm grabbed his tail. "I don't think so. Since you woke me up, you get to be my mid-day snack, little mammal."
"But- AAAA!" The next moment he was flung into the air, making a little arc that led him straight into the dinosaur's wide open fangs. The forked tongue threw him into her dark throat and swallowed him down.
The Troödon licked her lips as the squirming bulge travelled down her long neck into her feathered belly. The little mammal squirmed inside for a deliciously long time as she went back to sleep.
