Showing here the completed crow mask. God knows how I actually made this. It is primarily junk -wire, various kinds of tape, window screen, ping pong balls, goose and chicken feathers, scrap fabric, velcro... the only legit things are air dry clay and acrylic paint.
The bottom jaw is attached to the rest of the mask by a hinge near the back. A bar runs across my chin when I'm wearing it, making the mouth move when I talk. I made it with no back as I intended to wear it with a hood. It is light weight and is held on with velcro at the back of the head.
I am wary of showing the front because it is sort of lopsided. My first time ever making anything like this at all. Accidents were bound to happen. But from the side it looks pretty good.
I made also a special pair of gloves with finger extensions that resemble a crows feet and talons. They have never been properly photographed and they weigh more than the mask does.
This was based on a design I made of a demonic, half human, half crow that lurks in the woods and steals lost travelers to turn them into birds. It has a curious control over any bird, but particular crows, ravens, and sparrows, and is accompanied by a small flock at all times.
