You could almost star in a pathetic concept album! And... ask me to do the cover.
(Nah, but I've got an album cover commission that made me groan when I heard the brief. They want the entire cast of the "Neverending Story" and the Tower seen through the magic mirror gate - "and if you want to put some dragons or viking longships or castles in there, that'd be kickass." *grinds teeth* How do you expect me to fit all that on? For an LP that'd be okay, for a CD you're asking for trouble.)

With an LP, you can do gorgeous art to hold in your hands and contemplate for forty-minute stretches. My favorite part of album art is that everything seems important when you look at it for forty minutes. But a CD, nah. You leave a CD on in the background, or read the poetry the lead singer wrote in the liner, you don't pore your eyes over every surface.
Comments are so much fucking FUN. I'm just glad I'm not yet famous enough for my list of comments to be drowning in people who leave comments on my art, and not see when people reply to me. Conversations are the best when you don't have to look at the person X3

And by coincidence, I ran into the lead singer (the brief was communicated through my friend the bassist, not the most eloquent of guys) - I was able to pick his brain and show him the stuff. He wanted something vaguely John Bauer - and I'd just read an amazing collection of tales he illustrated, so I have an idea of how to approach the piece now. The more Baueresque it is, the more I can fit into one composition if it's all flat.
