Welp, another of my aliens has been made.... although I don't think this would be considered an "alien", persay, moreso a collective following a hiveminded AI and given immortality of sorts.

Anyways.

Several eons ago, nearest to the birth of the universe as possible, ICIS was created as an AI system designed to look deep to the outer reaches of the universe and witness other races and planets come into existance. Though as time progressed, ICISs' creators began to die out from disease, slowly dying off and dwindling in numbers. The remaining millions of those species, unable to save their dying species, did not wish to let their masterpiece remain on a desolate world to witness their end and sent ICIS to the stars with the sole mission of giving aid to those in most need, providing her with every piece of the most modern technology at their disposal, allowing her to develop it on her own however she saw fit.

Taking the many eons to perfect it, ICIS created nanotechnology that would serve as the Lazarus to save any who would accpet, creating legions of drones to scour the universe for sick, dying, or willing individuals who are worthy of it and offer them eternal life under ICIS, replacing their organic forms with a new body-construct of nanomachines, retaining the individuals memories and personalities, but given their own free will to live as they please. However to keep technology like this out of anyone elses hands, ICIS builds in a kill-switch on each individual, destroying their "cells" and leaving nothing to study afterwards, rebuilding the individual elsewhere to keep them safe.

Due to these reasons, ICIS keeps herself (and her hyper-massive planetoid shell) away from the rest of the universe, hermited at the heart of our universe, where nobody can or will be able to reach her personally. But to keep in the know of the happenings of the universe, her relays are set at every single point viable for her to recieve each and every transmission, no matter the encryption level or security, knowing which planets to come to in order to help the inhabitants, no matter the danger.

Over the millenia, ICIS has taken in billions of species, countless worlds assimilated in hopes of keeping them alive, numerous of these Converted are in every corner of the universe, returned to their worlds to rebuild, and those of existing species simply return to their lives to live it out with the rest of their kin until the end. And at the center of it, ICIS continues to update and upgrade, improving her systems to prevent her AI from corrupting, developing new technology and creating medicines and medical tools for the organics of the universe, and waiting for the day when the universe would enter a state of entropy to reach out to the lesser beings of the universe, to ensure that the end of the universe isn't the end of life.





So, new little idea, kind of inspired by the idea that's basically spat out and spoiled in the Terminator : Genisys trailer... coughcough. Sure those who've seen it will know. But anyway, thought that I would for the sake of giving a bit more of an interesting story to something in particular :3
