Interesting trick of the eyes in the second panel. When I'm focused on the word baloons I can only see one eye on the edge of my vision. So it flows from "Yes sir" and apparently two wide eyes to the reader, to "I understand, sir" and what would be two hooded, 'oh shit!' eyes.
