No, this is my rendition of it as seen on buses. The drivers use it to manually control the destination signs. Typically, they update automatically when the bus reaches its destinations.

This might date me, but the sign boards I recall had crank handles and had to be turned by hand at key "Time Stops" along the route. I used to ride the RTD way too much.

Many older buses still use those, but in several larger cities, plus much of Greyhound, Trailways, and some other charter bus lines, they now use electronic signs

I actually have 3 of these from some retired MBTA Buses. But I had to have the front destination sign to work properly. It won't work without at least the front destination sign. This was accomplished in 2017.
