..well not really, but the effect leaves me with the thought. This is my first attempt at high dynamic range (HDR) photography. Something you will likely see a lot more of from me.

Thank you. No filters. HDR is essentially done by taking a few photographs of the same scene with different shutters speeds, then taking the best detail from them all to grab textures and shading that your camera otherwise cannot do in a single shot. I did this one quickly, and didn't bother to remove even the chromatic abberation. ;)
Atleast I think that's the type of filter... I've never used one, and haven't read too much about 'em....but I think it's what gives this:

type of effect. I may very well be mistaken though.

For such a dark room you managed to catch all the light.. without over powering it. You're catching on FAST. :)
I've not seen one of the INSIDE of a room except for those Very Open temples on that website.. you always go right for the hardest things first, don't ya :)

HDR is used in video games, almost the same in photography. Photoshop CS2 will let you do the HDR work, sad thing is usually it's either going to come out looking like a painting, or really nice. I know another person thats really good at processing HDR photos, he's located at http://b.f11.org/ awsome photographer, good friend.
