Backgrounds are tough! though I do these "half backgrounds" because I find it more visually pleasing, and it's cheaper for commissioners.

I always have a hard time with the sky and sea, separating them enough to look different. Here there's mountains which helps.

Yeah it looks more like a river or lake. But I love it cause it reminds me of the lake my boyfriend takes me to. But I meant the place where the water meets the sand. It's just a small gradient. Never seen it like that before

Lots of beaches have mountains across from them :3 At least here we do.

Oh! Ya, i find the gradient looks best, since the sand sorta fades gradually rather then in a hard line, unless it suddenly gets deep.

She's adorable. Not the kind of girl I think I'd turn my back on, given the bone buried in the sand behind her. But her swimsuit is really cute, and I love the beach scene and how bright and cheerful everything looks. I really like the sort of chibi-ish style you've used here, too. There's something really cute about those little stumpy feet and it's just a really neat look overall.
