Indeed, Homestuck is the best thing I've ever got into! Jade and Dave are adorable dorks, you'll love them even more :P
4/13 is the day Homestuck started and John's and another character's birthday. Plus those numbers keep repeating during the series (along with 8, 6/12, 11/11, 10/25, etc). For example, the kids are 4 and they're all 13 years old (John being the youngest)
