Final face off part 2 (Finale)
Chaos sprang forward in a fury, jaws open wide as if he was ready to just snatch up Delta and eat him right then and there, And in his current Growlmon form he certainly had the mass to do so! But Delta was crafty and just as Chaos was mere inches from him, stepped to the side and whacked the dark digimon in the side of the face with one of his sabers, leaving a pretty rough burn on the dino's face.
Max moved not a second later, his new javelin in hand, he charged forward once Chaos was out of the way and aimed right at the midnight furred wolf, clad in the armor of light, right in the chest, blocked only by the pair of energy sabers that Delta wielded in an X shape, protecting his chest and thrusting forward to knock the javelin out of Max's paw. "You lack the proper training to wield such a weapon boy! Don't forget you only learned how to use your digimon powers a few months ago."
This time, it was Loweemon that leapt infront of Max, protecting him once again from impalement by Delta's saber with his dark shield. "I've used darkness for over a year now. Try me on for size." Loweemon bellowed to Delta as he fired a shadow meteor at point blank range, the blast knocked both he and Max backwards and into Chaos who caught them both with his paws.
"Did they get him?!" Fang called out, looking at the battle, and the dark flames that raveged the spot that Delta had been standing a moment ago.
"The light pierces through the darkness Fang. They're polar opposites, neither one able to totally conqure the other." Spoke Delta, who looked unscathed from the blast, matter of fact he just brushed away the dark flames with a wave of his arms.
Growling in frustration, which was pretty funny given his current namesake, Chaos pulled himself up and picked up Max. "Alright then...Let's see if you can stand this...Are you ready Max?"
Before Max could reply to Chaos's remark he felt the dino's paw curl into a fist. "And HERE comes the PITCH!"
Max should have seen it coming, afterall they were both essentially the same being so it HAD dawned on him. But he never thought HE'D be the ball, regardless once Chaos's paw opened and he was sent flying, he held his javelin forward to pierce at Delta's armor before he'd have time to dodge. And it worked, this time, Although Delta took a step to the right his Javelin managed to land a glancing blow and crack the armor around Delta's left chestplate.
"Hah...looks like you're not entirely invincible!" Chaos roared, obviously quite pleased with their accomplishment.
"Don't get so excited, it's just one strike." Loweemon replied calmly, though inside he was starting to wander.
Finally regaining his footing after being launched, Max stood behind Delta as the attack managed to both deal some damage to their enemy, it ALSO gave them a strategic advantage now that Delta would need to keep an eye out for attacks from the front and the back.
At least, that was the plan, but it seemed Delta had other places, he simply laughed at Max and pointed one blade in his direction, then the other at Chaos. "You two made it way too easy for me. I have no intentions of fighting the three of you to see how this draws out. Eventually you'll overpower me, and I already know about the spirit of FIRE coming to enter the fray any minute now. But now that I have a clear shot at the two of you there's no reason for me to delay any longer."
With that said, Delta's sabers seemed to extend, both of them impaling both Max and Chaos right in their chests, neither one could utter a sound as they were completly taken. "Relax...I won't kill either of you, I'm just taking what I need to create the royal knight that will cleanse this world!"
Fangs eyes and ears shot up, he immediately started growling. "What are you doing to them?! Unhand them immediately!"
"Gladly." Delta snickered, both blades leaving their targets, from Chaos came forth a dark orb and from Max one of light, both however remained attached to Delta's sabers. "I just needed this...Max's humanity...and Chaos's...digital coding."
As the darkness drew from Chaos's body, he started to shrink down, until all that remained was a boy sitting on his knees, a blank look on his face as if everything had been taken from him.
"You're crazy! you haven't taken away my humanity!" Max closed his eyes, as if trying to transform back into his human self, then gasped when nothing happened. "What did you do to us?!"
Delta simply shook his head, waving to the orbs clinging to his blades. "I told you, I look your humanity, and I basically took everything that made Chaos who he is. His digimon powers, now the only three I have to worry about are you, Loweemon and that spirit of Flame."
"AND with this...Everything will be cleaned in a most holy light." Delta chuckled as both light and darkness dissapeared into his being. "You can run if you'd like! But this world in it's entirety will be bathed in my power!"
No sooner than Delta finishing his sentance did he begin to transform again, this time however the armor took on a much different shape, It started darkening, turning into a dark shade of grey, with his shoulder gaurds and knee gaurds turning a dark bluish color, a domed shield was equipped to his left hand, sporting the digital hazard symbol that was commonly seen on Max's guilmon form and in his right, the same Javelin that Max had equipped himself with thanks to Fang, however Delta's seemed to be merged into his arm.
"He's...a twisted image of the royal knight he's supposed to represent!" Loweemon growled out, looking to his side and seeing that Chaos was still in a daze, he quickly picked up the dark haired look alike of Max and brought him to Fang, then got ready for whatever might happen now.
Max rubbed at his chest, thankfully it didn't seem that Delta's blade caused any physical damage, it also explained however why he always parried Loweemon's attacks but always tried to get a killing blow on him and Chaos. "Great...He's evolved and we were doing SO Well..."
Delta stretched his body out a bit, moving his fingers up and down under his shield before laughing. "Now do you see? You all never really had a chance. If you and Delta had battled like I intended, then maybe you'd have this power for yourself, then you wouldn't BE in this predicament."
Shaking his head, Max moved forward to thrust his javelin into Delta's armor but was dismayed when it shattered on impact, the next thing he knew was Delta's shield slamming into his face and knocking him into the ground, he struggled to pull himself back up. "What...is that all? You were tougher when you were still a Lobomon."
"Hmph, you still have enough energy to crack jokes huh? Maybe now that I've gotten what I needed from you I should just delete you. Your usefulness has ended!" Just as he was about to thrust his Javelin into Max's chest, two pairs of dragons of flame came slamming into his body and knocked him away from Max.
"Whew...Sorry I took so long guys, I got lost on that last turn..." Flare grinned, donning his Agunimon armor in full. He helped Max up off the ground.
Loweemon had remained stationary the whole time. They barely cracked Delta's armor as a Lobomon and yet, now as a ChaosGallantmon, his armor seemed impenetrable. "Flare...boy did you come at the right time. We could sure use the help. Listen! Max, Flare, we need to combine our attacks!"
Charmeleon flew next to his trainer, in his digimon altered state of course and held up a paw as if to signal he would help too.
"It...couldn't hurt." Max took a deep breath.
"Max...Let me take over for a minute..." Spoke Pyre from inside of the subconcious space that he and Leo occupied. "An all out attack won't work against him but I have an idea that might, you have to let me take the lead for a minute."
Turning his attention to Pyre, he let out a small sigh. "Alright but don't get any funky ideas got it?"
"Funky?! We happen to be sharing this body, if anyone needs to be mindful of what they're doing with it, it's you!" Pyre laughed, but shook his head for a moment and closed his eyes.
Once he opened them back up, he was out in the real world in Max's perspective, looking at the rest of their comrades. "It won't work." He spoke in as calm a voice as possible.
"Woah! Max do you have a cold or something?" Flare put a hand over the Arcanine-Weregarurumon's forehead and was greeted with a growl. "Yipe!"
"It's me Pyre. Max and I fused together so that we could tackle this adversary and HOPED it would be enough to stop this madness. We were wrong, but we STILL have a shot and it's one that Delta has lost sight of."
Loweemon remained quiet, listening to the wise canine speak. "What do you suggest we do?"
Pyre made sure he had their attention before grabbing both of their hands. "You both need to channel your power into us. I know...it sounds rediculous but the moment that Delta decided to forsake the spirit of light was the moment he gave us a reasonable chance to evolve into AncientGarurumon."
Loweemon blinked, conferring with the spirit he himself was bonded too before nodding. "I get where you're coming from. but...AncientGarurumon was a digimon that dissapeared CENTURIES AGO in the battle against Lucemon. How can we get him here now?"
A deep chuckle resounded from Pyre's throat. "We're not going to make him come here. We're going to become a new AncientGarurumon. There's no way the three of us can defeat a royal knight even one that's false, BUT...AncientGarurumon managed to seal away the demon lord Lucemon so with that we may just have a chance...Both of you connect to your spirits and they'll take it from there."
After a couple of seconds, both Loweemon and Flare nodded, the two of them glowing as did Pyre. "We're giving you everything we have Pyre, you and Max better win." Flare called out with a chuckle.
"He's right, You and Max brought me back to my senses, I'd hate for the world to end before I have a chance to make amends and apologize to everyone I've hurt." Loweemon grinned, before closing his eyes as the transferrence of power was starting to take it's toll.
"Don't worry...we'll win." Pyre growled out, closing his eyes as he felt their powers flowing right into him.
"I don't think you three realize it...but there's no way I'm going to let you three amass enough power to defeat me!" Just as Delta was going to move forward for the kill, Charmeleon jumped in the way and let loose his strongest flamethrower to bathe the psudo knight in a mighty torrent of fire.
"Sorry! But you'll have to get through me!" Charmeleon muttered with a growl, the digital hazard on his head and chest glowing with power. "I can buy you guys a couple of seconds! Now hurry it up!"
Delta grumbled, this little nuesance would be simple enough to swat away. And that he did, he moved forward to impale the Charmeleon but due to it's 'wings' it managed to evade his attacks, but the rounded shield was large enough that it couldn't miss it's mark and smacked right into the lizard's body, sending him crashing into the ground.
"Hmph...an abomination to be sure...no Charmeleon should have wings, you're a pokemon with digimon DNA thanks to the meddling of one boy. No matter..." Delta laughed as he pointed his Lance. "Chaos shot!" he cried out, a dark beam fired straight at the three digimon.
Unfortunately for Delta however the attack was stopped short by a rather strong hyper beam, once the dust had cleared up he was greeted by a Salamence, with Kevin sitting on it's back. "I may not have digimon powers like the rest! But I can certainly stall for time!"
Delta was about to take care of the two, just as he did with Charmeleon but blinked when the ground started shaking beneath him, a moment later he fell tumbling into a decent sized hole. Another one appeared just beside it with Nidoking stiffling a grin. "It'll take him a minute or two to crawl out of that one!"
Nidoking was wrong however, instead of a minute, Delta simply flew out of the hole and growled. "So many pests are showing up..."
"Yeah well...we're not about to let our world be destroyed." Fang cried out as his ink Blastoise fired a twin blast of explosions coming his way, Delta raised his shield and managed to defend against the explosion and was next greeted by a pair of hyper beams, one from Nidoking, and another from Salamence, the combined attacks sent Delta sliding back, and when Charmeleon pulled himself to add his flamethrower to the mix, the Psudo knight was knocked on his back.
Both Nidoking and Salamence were panting after their recent assault, it took awhile for ANY pokemon to recharge from a hyber beam, and both were just grateful they were keeping Delta pushed back. None of their attacks were harming the knight, but at the same time, Delta couldn't retalliate as long as they kept up the pressure.
"We have to keep this up, they're not read-!" Charmeleon was about to say, but he was swept off his feet by a dark beam that knocked him right into the closest wall.
Delta took a deep breath, he got up on his feet and dusted off his cape, and the armor around him. After which he moved at blinding speed, cutting down Salamence with a glancing blow to the side, and destroyed Fang's ink Blastoise with a single dark wave. Finally he turned his attention to Nidoking, their last line. "You are all pretty persistant, YOu and Jesse were such splended pawns but you seem incapible of following orders!"
Nidoking didn't back down, and when Delta's spear came charging into him, he caught it in his paws, growling. "YOu were under the wrong impression. You see it was never YOUR orders I followed, I only follow Jesse and Jesse alone. And it looks to me that he's come to his senses and now we're staging our counterattack! Also...you missed your chance to stop them." Nidoking cringed and winked, before shutting his eyes as a blinding light enveloped the room.
It felt...good, as if this light meant no harm to the people around it, and would only harm those with impure actions. this time, it was Max and Pyre's turn to evolve, their body was being converted, changed within the comforting and warm light. They once more grew in size, now as tall as 10 to 12 feet, their body was now clad in shining white armor, with what looked to be gold like claws as shoulder gaurds, in each hand was a broad, gold looking sword looking to be each around 6 feet long and 2 feet wide. They still retained their appearance as a garurumon, but this time they looked more mechanized, as they gripped the hilt of their swords and turned their attention to Delta. "Know my name because I speak true! I am AncientGarurumon and I've come to end your oppression right here and now!" The voice sounded mixed, as if both Max AND Pyre were speaking at the same time.
"You...you're AncientGarurumon? So then whom have I oppressed?" Delta asked in a gentle tone, while at the same time he fired another wave of dark energy towards the newborn digimon, yet it simply dissapated against it's brilliant armor.
"The spirit of light that you claim to have bonded with, and the oppression of the kind wolf I know that you can be, if you learn to accept both the light AND the darkness. You've stolen Chaos's digital self, and Max's humanity, Both of whom will never be the same thanks to your actions." AncientGarurumon lifted his blades forward, and began pacing toward Delta. "Prepare yourself!"
The final battle ensued, both AncientGarurumon and Delta locked themselves in combat, neither one was willing to let up an inch, for if either one of them were to slip up they knew it would be the last mistake they made.
Both Flare and Loweemon fell to their knees, their armor digitizing and returning to their pokegears. Now as Jesse, he looked at the two Mega's battling within the confined spaces of this room. "We...should get out of here, those two are going to destroy this whole building. But what an amazing fight..."
Nidoking picked up Jesse before he fell to the floor, he also did the same for Flare since he happened to be at the same spot. "Salamence can you carry the rest?!"
The dragon pokemon was already working alongside his trainer to pick up Charmeleon, but it took Fang and Kevin together to get Chaos on his back, once they did however they were out of there.
AncientGarurumon's blades clanked with Delta's spear and shield, as if driven not by instinct but by passion. With one swift kick he was able to knock Delta to his back and twisted both of his blades. "Absolute Zero!" He roared out, and just as he did so, the air within the room became very frigid, it was as if they were suddenly on the north pole as everything froze over, including Delta's shield which became very frail when the icy wind blew over it. breaking it to pieces.
"Wait...you can't do this to me! I'm supposed to be the one that saves this world!" Delta cried out, pulling himself up but the tempetures of the room made it apparent that any sort of resistance wouldn't exactly be possible at this point.
AncientGarurumon closed his eyes, he wished things could have been different but as things stood they couldn't. "Delta!" He roared out, getting the frightened knight's attention. "You have caused countless casualties and crimes! Toyed with your own subordinates, not even caring if they are injured or otherwise killed! As a warrior of justice I must punish you."
"Sharpness Claymore!" the great best roared out, both greatswords began shining with power as swiftly and elegantly, he began cutting Delta into pieces, reducing the psudo royal knight to sliced bits, after which he set both swords into their proper resting place on his hips and the sliced pieces of wolf prompty exploded, leaving nothing left of the tyrant. However just like Jesse predicted, he had gone a bit overboard, two Mega's fighting underground was too much strain for this building to handle and immediately he began to take off, looking for the exit as fast as he could.
Outside though, the town goers were already watching as the Souvenir shop in Majogany town began coming apart, thankfully Jesse and the others managed to make it out just before it all came down, but Max wasn't anywhere in sight, and it had the entire group worrying. "I...hope that he got out alright..." Jesse mumbled to himself, looking like he was about to start crying at the loss of his best friend.
"Whaddya mean? I'm right here!" Came a muffled voice from the rubble, AncientGarurumon pushed himself out of the debris and chuckled, walking over to his friends with a gentle gaze. "It's far from over though...We may have defeated the darkness on this side...but Reapermon's still out there...I don't think we finished him off."
Just as AncientGarurumon mentioned this, he began glowing, Max and Pyre finally split back into two different people, everyone was in shock and awe at the ten foot Arcanine finally back among the group, but Max had remained in his Guilmon stage rather than turning into a human.
"Uhm...Max...I don't think you can enter the tournament looking like a Guilmon..." Jesse uttered quietly, looking saddened but at the same time relieved that Max was okay, he even jumped forth to hug him!
'Yeah...I never registered as a Guilmon, and it'd be silly if they allowed me to enter the competition like this. I guess my career as a trainer was over just as quickly as it began huh...But y'know...maybe I can become a ranger still!" Max grinned, as if it didn't faze him all that much.
Jesse smiled kindly, knowing that Max was hiding his feelings as usual, everyone else may be fooled, but he knew more than anybody that right now, Max just wanted to cry at his loss.
"You know...All might not be lost. You may not be able to enter THIS year's tournament Max..." Pyre started, taking a deep breath. "But you CAN get your human body back, and Chaos can get his digimon form back too."
Finally, Chaos snapped out of his broken state and looked Pyre's way. "But...how...It was taken from us from Delta which you both destroyed..."
Pyre nodded, grabbing Max as well as Chaos and bringing them close to his face. "There's an old man...in the digital world, that would love to meet the both of you. He can help you regain what you've lost...You two should come too." He turned his attention to Flare and Jesse.
"What about me?!" Fang cried out, then blinked when a burst of light sprang forth from the ruins of the souvenir shop and housed itself within his pokegear, from the screen he could see the digimon symbol for light, as well as a locked icon beside it.
"Hmmm, well looks like you'll just have to come along too. The spirit of light seems to have transferred itself over to you, now that it's original host has been destroyed. But because it was bonded...it can't take shape. This old man can fix that as well, so...what do you all say?"

Fang cried out as his ink Blastoise fired a twin blast of explosions coming his way, Delta raised his shield and managed to defend against the explosion and was next greeted by a pair of hyper beams, one from Nidoking, and another from Salamence, the combined attacks sent Delta sliding back, and when Charmeleon pulled himself to add his flamethrower to the mix, the Psudo knight was knocked on his back.
