I was once on the leadership team for a department where I work and we were on a project engaged with a state agency. The program manager was their employee and he once said in a meeting, "We want this project to be transparent. We're approaching it with an open kimono". We didn't like the guy much, and me and another fellow on the leadership team looked at one another with bemused expressions. Later my colleague, with a knack for deadpan comic delivery, said, "I hope he wasn't serious .... the last thing I want to see is him with his kimono open." It summed up all our feelings quite well.
