My medium character Thomas Morgan (last name might get changed due to Dexter..) and his dead twin brother Max.
When they were younger the two accidentally witnessed a crime and helped put the criminal behind bars (story getting rewritten a bit with the details). On their 18th birthday they went out to a party only to get attacked on the way home, Max was stabbed to death while trying to protect his brother, Tom miraculously survived but ended up in a coma for a few weeks as well as with multiple scars. Upon waking up he developed the ability to see and communicate with spirits, his brother included.
These days Tom works as a law enforcer, trying to catch his brother's killer as well as help any spirits along the way.
Tom is a rather laid back guy who enjoys peace and quiet as well as a nice cup of tea. He might come off as a bit odd, talking to "himself", and rather cocky. Not many people like him since they don't see what he does and that normally results in a bit of mocking.
He normally doesn't get much sleep either due to the spirits in his apartment complex constantly keeping him awake at night. They are also the reason why he doesn't have people, much less dates, over.

PS: I like how Tom goes from being uncertain, to embarrassed, to annoyed. Seems about right.
