And here we have the next part in these two's tale. You can see a bit of difference in the design of Nicholas. This is because I looked up a couple of things and saw ways to improve him and my canine characters. Expect these to be in future art I do. Also I think it's helped a lot.

A few weeks passed since that last meeting. This was due to the Jewel Vixens being called into action again. This time having to deal with an illegal weapon dealer. The mission was successful as usual. But things were about to get interesting again.
When the eight got back Topaz ended up calling Nicholas. She had missed him and wanting to see the vulpine again had allowed this vixen to make sure she didn't get killed during the last mission. The two met up in the city. "Hey, there you are!" stated the male. The female and him hugged. "So how was the trip?"
"Like interesting," responded Topaz. The vixen knew she couldn't tell Nicholas the truth. But she could use things like what she had just said and not give up real information. "So where are we headed this time?"
"Just around the city. And I do need to pick up a few things. Maybe you could help?"
"I'd so love to!" exclaimed the vixen. The two took off. They had a good time. But then they had to hit the grocery store since Nicholas needed to pick things up for dinner.
"No, not that meat," he said. "This one is better." Topaz was helping him out and doing a good job. But the vulpine was better.
"Then like what about this to go with it?" asked the vixen and held up some spices to season it.
"Perfect. Walter our butler will be pleased."
"It's funny. You don't look like the type to cook. And you're good at shopping." Topaz couldn't help but giggle.
"Well sometimes me and the boys have to help him and his wife," explained Nicholas. "Plus it's a good skill to have. Although you're good at it as well. Maybe a bit less than me." The vixen shoved the vulpine playfully in response.
"Well I like think it's cool that you can cook," stated the female. She couldn't help but think of Nicholas making her some stuff. He just smiled softly and gave her a one arm squeeze.
The two made it out and were headed down the street. The two still talked and didn't notice they were being watched by a group of four. There was a wolf, coyote, blood hound, and akita.
"Hey, that vixen is cute," stated the lupine. "My type."
"But she's with another guy," commented the coyote. "What a hassle."
"There's four of us and one of him," said the blood hound. "We can take them." The four suddenly stepped in front of the two foxes.
"Hey cutie," went the wolf. "Wanna hang out with us? We know some cool places."
"Wait, what?" asked Topaz. Nicholas stepped in front of her in defense.
"What the hell is your problem?" he asked while glaring at the four newcomers.
"Oh you know what?" asked the lupine. "We don't need you." The wolf aimed a punch at Nicholas's gut. But the vulpine was ready and caught the blow. The next thing the lupine knew, the vulpine had gotten him with a left elbow. Blood dripped out of his nose. Topaz looked in shock at the guy she liked and was startled to see the look on his face. His teeth were bared in a snarl and the vixen could hear a deep, salvage growl from his chest.
"You've asked for it!" snarled the coyote. The wolf got ready and one of the guys whipped out a knife. Another had brass knuckles.
"Let's go," stated Nicholas. Topaz watched as the vulpine fended these guys off. They couldn't even touch the male. It wasn't long before all four were on the ground and groaning. The vulpine pulled the vixen close to his body and held his left paw out in a ready pose. She could still hear his growl. Looking up to his face saw how much it had changed. For the first time since knowing him, a spark of fear went through her body.
"Had enough, or do you want more?" asked the vulpine through clenched teeth. "You won't get near her!" The four ran for it. Topaz could then feel Nicholas begin to relax and the growl die down. "Are you alright?" he asked.
The vixen just nodded. He could see the fear Topaz had in her eyes and felt sick when realizing he had caused it. "I'm sorry you had to see that."
The vixen then noticed something. "Wait, you're like bleeding!" Nicholas then felt it on his left cheek.
"I guess I wasn't fast enough and the guy with the knife got me." Topaz got out a napkin from the place they had eaten at from her pocket and with gentle fingers began to stop the bleeding. "Topaz, I'm-"
"I want to," she whispered. "I can see it's not deep. Just let me, please." And Nicholas couldn't say no to her. He liked the feel of Topaz's fingers on his face. She had a gentle, light touch. The vixen in the meantime was pondering over what had happened. She knew that the vulpine would never hurt her. But to see him act like that was scary. Which meant... he did like her. A lot.
"There we go. All better." The vulpine could see that the fear the vixen had in her eyes was gone.
"Thanks. Now let's get going back to your place."
It wasn't long before Topaz did and the two promised to see each other again. The vixen couldn't help but tell the others what had happened.
"That's ridiculous," said Jade. "Yes he had muscle but Nicholas doesn't seem like the guy that would know how to fight. I'll believe that when pigs grow their own set of wings and learn to fly."
"What? It's true!" stated Topaz.
"Topaz isn't the kind to lie," commented Emerald. "I think there's more to Nicholas then we know. And his friends as well."
"I agree," said Sapphire. They didn't know how right they were. And they would find this out soon.
