Grells are levitating abberations from 1st edition D&D, smart as a human but alien of mindset. They don't build socities but forever expand their colony and consume flesh. No origin was ever given now or since, except they come from some lightless place beyond. They have a sharp beak, minor psychic powers, and paralytic tenticles. They were a dangerious foe for mid level adventurers, especally because grell attack in numbers.
