Pumpkins mom has largely been unmentioned. Her dad is a troll and, as far as she's ever known, so was she. She's always been proud of being a troll, since it's made her inhumanly strong (even if she's had to keep it a secret from most people), so finding out that she's half human is upsetting for her. Her mother left her and her dad after finding out what they were and that her dad had lied to her about it, which doesn't help matters.

I was going to reveal this in a much more dramatic, narrative fashion, but I know people have limited attention spans. You can just imagine she found this out after some wacky antics took place. Her mother probably showed up out of nowhere to apologize, and then Pumpkin probably told her to fuck right off.
