Okay
I have a LOT to say about this
first off:
I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS!
I mean, I have been in an art slump for so long, and here I come out with not only a detailed painting of Rika, but she is in an interesting pose, there is a story element, there are 2 difficult light sources, there is a BACKGROUND, and I actually like it! (I also worked on the entire thing while really sick)
I took a lot of chances with this piece and it took me about a week to complete.
but dang I am proud.
I would love some CC on this too, so I may come up with better digital paintings in the future!

Yeah you should!!
One of the only things I'd critique about this is that Rika blends in too much with the sky. Try making the hue/saturation/value/sharpness of the background different than her. Desaturate the sky and make it lighter or darker than the foreground so Rika pops out! Ways to judge the clarity of the composition is to blur your vision to see if the colors run together, or make the image grayscale to judge the value differences better. Hope that makes sense to you!

When I decided to give the image a real background, I knew I was going to run into that problem haha
I moved the sunset behind her to help a little, but I didn't think to change the saturation/value or the sky to make her pop more.
Thanks for the advice! I will keep that in mind next time :)
