Blind Samuel grew up in the swamps. At the age of 12, his parents took off with his baby brother at night, leaving him behind. That’s when he learned about life, and he learned fast. Occasionally he stole food or other things he needed. From time to time an old postman visited him, brought him some comics and books and food. He also initiated him in rough sex, but overall he was kind to him. Being alone most of the time, he learned to read the clouds, listen to the meaning of the sounds and smells and colors and lights and shades around him. He learned to see with his eyes closed, to see what his eyes couldn’t. When the old postman died he left him some money.
One day some youngsters were lost in the swamps and bumped into him. He used his rhetoric into making them believe they had to kill each other for their own survival and filmed it all. That movie got him into jail. Another convict brought him into contact with the mob. When he got released he opened up a small shop, selling groceries and supplies in the swamps, as a cover up for his arms dealing business.
He adopted 4 boys who dreamt of getting out of there as soon as possible. They formed the Butcher Shop Gang, robbing butcher shops all over town. However, their first big bank robbery went wrong and they all got killed. That’s when he began to write his manuscript – the Book of Things – about the hiding meaning of perception, trying to define the world around him.
He does all of his arms business in town, few people know his whereabouts in the swamps. But Shadow Scoob does. He and Shadow Scoob sort of became friends because Shadow Scoob is the only one who understands how he thinks. Besides he finds him hot.
