Now that I'm visualizing your redesign with my own eyes, I quite like it. Not entirely in on the wings, as the positioning doesn't show off their true glory enough for me to judge whether to keep'em in this state or not(I do like the lil hands/claws on the top though, I'll be honest. Its really cute. <3)

The pink-ish/cherry color mixed in with the green scales is interesting, it does give off that stained-glass window thing as you said above. I like it, not entirely keen on the color though, but it does complete the look quite nicely.

Honestly I think a more blue-ish colour on the scales and the overall colour could work. Beyond that. I think it's really up to you ahha. :3
