According to the Wiki, Yes they have their own quests. From what i can figure out (not knowing how Frontier's post story works) it seems guild quests, or a section of them, are randomized and the "Black Rathian" as well as the Zerureusu (white/blue relative of Rathalos) have a seemingly good chance of showing up, even if most people don't take them because of how brutal the monsters are.
Rathalos's for you. If they're not smacking you with their tail or shooting fireballs they're posioning you with their talons, pinning you down and eating you or stunning you with a roar only to get a cheap shot with a jump-back fireball attack during the time you're stuck un able to move. Note to self, get an armor set with earplugs.
