The idea is that Tails gave Sonic a chip that would allow Sonic to keep his mind from being deleted while roboticized, allowing Sonic to perform an undercover mission. Unfortunately for him, Robotnik decided to make this roboticization female and simply download a bunch of personality data onto Sonic, dampening his own. Sonic’s still there mentally, but he’s in a constant struggle to resist the great urge of sultry bimboism.
