It may seem boring, to play a Doc, but imagine what kind of crap the guy would have to go through just to reach YOU, so you can take YOUR hand off your buddy's femoral artery and continue fighting the good fight??
Yeah.. that's what *I'M* talkin about!
Not to mention how distracting it must be to get over a dozen distress calls all at once and having to decide which one is most urgent? Which one can hack the pain, they just don't know it? Which one is hopeless and needs to be put down...?
Life of a Navy Doc is harder than it looks.

Every second counts, so if it means passing up two or three troops with arm or foot injuries, to get to the soldier with a liver hemmorhage.
Or would it be more humane to drag a soldier who's lost 60% of their blood, has a carotid separation and come to find out he bled out on the way back to base, or just give him a dose of ketamine right then and there?

True, though I think that this would be a closely guarded secret. Can you imagine how much havoc this would wreck on morale if the grunts found out that instead of being triaged as "hopeless" and given a dose of morphine, they would actually be euthanized by their own medics? Scary thought.
