yeah, i know what they are. and from what i've heard, they haven't been all that successful in the realm of furry.
the premises of artist's trading cards are:
1. it's free to trade, and only to trade.
2. can be of any material.
3. can be of any theme.
my version of it is. (more on the spirit of the artist's trading cards original concept)
1. its free to trade, and only to trade. (not to be sold, the owners of the characters can trade for it during a con)
2. can be of any material.
(i use super heavy index stock 300lb., index stock 120 lb., bristol stock 90 lb., strathmore watercolor paper 140 lb, acetate, and 90 lb vellum)
3. i have a special theme. it's only of males and usually clean. (for the trading cards)
4. all cards are original, hand made, and one of a kind.
i dont really care what's traded to me, although something nice is a plus. XD

*nod* I agree, artist trading cards are really cool, and I'd heard of them which is what inspired the whole FTC thing. But I wanted to have something that people who aren't artists could participate in too. :) The original idea behind FTCs is that they'd also be free to trade (I know I've seen plenty of people sell ATCs too) I've only seen I think 10 FTCs designed so far, I think 6 of which have made it to print that I know of, and I showed mine around along with a couple other people's at FA:U to a lot of positive response from pretty much everyone who saw them. A lot of people really seemed to want to get into it, and I know several people who are slowly working on it. But I just thought I'd mention it, I understand if you prefer the ATC thing instead, it does have more appeal in some ways the way it's done. :)
Oh, and I should have mentioned that card does look nice, too ^_^

i've been making home made trading cards since i was a kid...
this was because my parents had forbidden me from buying them after a certain point.
so i began drawing small on some white cardboard i found near the garbage bin.
it was superhero cards back then. it gave me the ability to draw on anything or any
character i wished.
and from then on out, i would always produce a few each time
