You can tell just by the colors that this piece represents some troubling thoughts. After a good look over it, it's obvious that Dick just feels exhausted and smothered by weight of the goo or whatever it is. The face that all the colors blend in together into almost the same color really helps show just how much smothering is really going on without drawing something silly looking.

Not gonna lie, I really like your vent art man. I don't like the motives behind it, (i.e. you having an emotional or physical trouble) but I do like the art that you produce from it.

oh, yeah!
well I was feeling kinda stressed and overwhelmed when I first worked on it so that's a big part of the symbolism. I was angry, I felt gritty, and I wanted to let my hand go.
so the character here has a heavy fall of goo coming down on his shoulders, dragging him down with its weight or whatever!!

Melting redness that pours on your shoulders.

these lines are thick, you use a thicker brush?

I used markets for this one actually and that's how I pulled it off! did the entire thing with different prismacolor markers
