Super sloppy service, to find paper towel fragments in the fuel lines. *In* the fuel lines. Our Host could speak to any potential malice upon the part of the (seeming incompetent) mechanics.

The paper towel had disintegrated and was all in the lines and filter. Being that is was my Father, (the narcissistic sociopath) it could be someone he pissed off or his own mistake. He's actually a fairly accomplished mechanic (worked on race cars and owned a TV repair shop way back when that was a real thing) but would never awknowledge a misstep.

I am sorry our respective elders share such bad character traits.

You are forgetting that the glogged pumps were cropping up en route.

Well if you wanted to be generous, assuming the mechanic was using a paper towel to clean the opening (sloppy procedure true), some paper bits might have dropped into the line.

One doesn't use TP for such...

TP was not what I expected.... had more expected contamination from sloppy fuel storage or beyond service life filters... hard to see TP as anything other than sabotage as it makes a very effective time delay filter/pump blocker due to the way it breaks up...

Have seen yoghurt used as a sabotage tool before and that could be the source of the mould... the rest seems reasonable for an aircraft that is well overdue for major check service and has had a hard life in less than ideal environmental conditions with less than competent/indifferent monitoring... Dead gen and the bad reg are the biggest worries... hopefully one can be made from two, otherwise it is time for "agricultural hack repair" time!

The moldy breaker was due to the steamy tropical conditions and the bakelite-esque material, resin-impregnated cellulose fibre- given a poor resin to fibre ratio and enough humidity and time, it could rot.

Ah.... so more of the environmental rather than the deliberate.... never had that issue with older breakers here... but then again, our environment was more arid desert with just short forays into tropics so it would never be likely to have become an issue....
Guess that the breaker fault is from personal experience?

That was just a reasonable WAG. I checked today and found that some bakelite was in fact suceptable to mold.
