I've decided to lower the threshold for uploads for now. The stuff that would usually go to scraps I'll just keep in the gallery, and what'd ordinarily not be uploaded I could send into scraps.
I end up with too few finished pieces going up, while a lot of sketches for good quality drawings lie around in a limbo of never being completed. This piece is indicative of something quick and experimental, the type of thing I can finish in an evening and which feeds into my bigger projects.
Trees suck. Both far away and up close.
The motive and colours were based on (pipped from!) a Simon Stålenhag picture. I wanted to copy his Rovaniemi-area style, and see how my default brushes held up against it.
