Not much, just a short based on a dream I had a week or two back. A dream that was strangly clear atleast at one point.
First person from a lost mysterious hiker.

Lost again, in the forest of a country that I can’t remember. God, I hate it when things like this happen to me, just out hiking and get lost. Maybe it would help if I remember the country I was in, oh well may ask at the next town. ‘If I ever get out of this forest that is’ I thought.
It was old, and been around for a while, I could tell that much. The trees were large and the logs of fallen trees took some effort to climb. Actually makes me wonder how the big companies never came here to cut down these trees. Animals cried out, and rustled among the leaves and the plants as I turned to look in their direction.
I continued my walk inwards of the forest, getting a funny feeling that I was being watched. I had paused to see if I could see anything, but nothing so far. I turned back around as I lifted my backpack up and continued my hike. Eyes glancing this way as I tried to figure out where I was going or if whoever was watching will reveal themselves, time will tell I guess.
More time passed as nothing improved, as I sighed a bit. Maybe I would be lost in this forest forever. Just then something moved out of the corner of my eye. Turning around I stared in disbelief at a little ball of fire just hovering inches from me. It zipped around as I turned around, following it, trying to not break my gaze from it.
I watched it as it zipped into the woods down a path and I followed. Not the best decision to make, but it’s better than nothing. It paused several times and zipped around the trees before continuing on its path with me following. From time to time, I swear I could hear giggling, like something was having fun.
The ball eventually led me to a clearing, yet it was different. There in front of me was a shrine, one that looked Asian at least, maybe Japanese. It was overgrown with plant life as I walked closer to it. Vines and moss grew here and there on the shrine as I paused. Something was standing next to it, watching me with careful eyes.
It was a fox; at least I think it was it was larger than a normal one. Grey fur covered its body with purple swirls here and there. A mask sat on its face, the mask was back, but had patterns of gold and red, a band of gold over the eye holes, with red lining them and forming patterns at the top and bottom. Yellow eyes watched me, a spark of age and intelligence to them. The flickering of the tail caught my attention next, or should I say tails as I looked at them. Seven of them flowing behind the fox, at least three of them having something like a scarf tied to them, each tail with a tip of light grey.
It just sat there watching me, as I guessed it could be a kitsune. I tried to remember what I read about them, before taking a small bow to it. It may be wrong or not, but couldn’t remember. When I looked back up at it, it seemed to smile as it returned the nod. I guess I amused it as I watched it. A tail moved as it pointed to another path.
I nod before reaching into my backpack, pulling out a bit of food I had been rationing. The kitsune watched as I walked forward a bit, placing the food in front of it, before taking a step back. I could feel gratification radiating off the kitsune as it slowly nodded its head before it gestured to the path this time with its paw. I nod, bowing again as I turned and walked down the path.
The kitsune watching me, I could tell as I walked away from the shrine. It’s giggling returning as the ball of fire zipped in front of me and down the path.
