Breaking again from the current process of uploading backlogs to skip to another pic in this series on current events. Not drawn by me: this was the WIP linework for a finished pic that the wonderful artist, and once-prolific FPS ArtJam contributor, Rose/Thorn, sent to the Mar 01 '15 episode of The Funday PawPet Show ( https://www.pawpet.tv ) which I was privileged to review, and is posted here with her explicit permission. The final coloured submission can be seen here -- http://archives.pawpet.tv/index.php?album=2015/2015-03-01&image=sehlak.png
I've put it on my site as, by her own admission over her FA, she "hasn't updated that in a long time". Apparently she "needs to reorganize folders to upload stuff to be current", so I guess we should expect her to update... sometime. Watch -- http://www.furaffinity.net/user/thorn/
Rose didn't think she knew what's "funny from them" anymore, ideas for drawing FPS, that is, despite sending in one picture by the time we conversed. Having already sent in MY tribute to Leonard Nimoy http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15894270/ I told her that if she wanted to "blow *MY* ArtJam out of the water" she could do a like tribute. Claiming to be "Bad at (drawing) people" I had an idea, telling her that Nimoy's character Spock had a pet Sehlak on Vulcan, provided some links to prior art, and that she could draw it crying in remembrance (the tears have no outline, so only show in the final art). At first she questioned drawing just "a BEAR" but, when pointed out that it was, as Dr, McCoy teasingly called it, a Teddy Bear, to which Spock added ".. with 6-inch fangs" went for it. Excellent adaptation & pose there.
For helping her overcome artist's block over what to draw, she kindly gave me credit in the pics.
Thanks, Rose!

Actually, the sehlak has no idea, considering that Spock's pet died when Spock was a child, from fighting a le matya that was threatening Spock as a boy. This has all been seen in the TOS animated series episode "Yesteryear".
That said, I've always liked Rose's art, so I'm faving this, just because.

NERD! Dork! Geek! Trekkie! Furry! Scritcher! Twizzler! (Actually, that's just a candy.)
Who's to say Spock had only one sehlak over his long lifetime? This one isn't identified as I-Chaya. (To my credit, I had to google that.)
So, let's retcon this to make the picture work. I write a fan-fic wherein elderly Spock has many sehlats, like a crazy old lady cat-collector, "Mary-Sue" myself into it and BAM! instant fame within Trek non-canon lore. Soon to be a major motion picture.
