This photo represent a very rare glider, a Castel 3010, it's a high-wing and open-cockpit training glider built at only 5 exemplares at the Fouga factory of Aire sur l'Adour in 1946. Of those 5 gliders, only 2 are in capacity of fly, the 3 other are exhibited in museums in France but I've no informations about the other one in state of fly. So, this one, the F-CREJ is maybe the last C-3010 which is flying around the France. It's based at Poitiers LFBI, where its pilot is registered, and will do a flight there before to go at the airfield of Romorantin, one of the greatest glider airfield in France.
This glider is rare by the number of this type which were built but also by its age, a glider of the 40s is very rare because at this time, when you break your glider, the State paid you a new one so, the gliders, at this time, weren't maintained very well and a lot of them are not recoverable.
And more of that, I've got the luck to know its pilot who is also the guy who restored it, It's with him that I did my first flight with the ASK-21.
Nevertheless, if the fuselage is from origin, the wings were lightly modified for increase the performances of this glider, they were extended of 1m each one and the wings tips were modified, the originals ones are round when the new one are more square.
I promise, when it'll be exit for its test flight 2015, I'll manage myself for take some photos of it.
