I dunno... yeah, they both have to put up with well-meaning buffoons, but Grim isn't evil. He's just an unpopular guy with an unpopular job who got roped into friendship with a 12-year-old domineering harridan and the physical incarnation of stupidity.

Lord Hater, meanwhile, is your typical Evil Overlord with more in common with a Filmation Big Bad (Skeletor, Hordak, Prime Evil, etc.) whose nemesis isn't exactly stupid... he's just too nice, too honest and/or too friendly to understand that Lord Hater is a galactic conqueror with terrible dark powers and an army at his disposal... of course, said conqueror also has the emotional maturity of a moody teenager.
