I tried to do this with the ending of Anohana but I started crying mid way through the final episode T___T and don't get me started on Clannad or Angel Beats.

I haven't watch any of the anime you refers to, but I've heard from the fan that those Anime has a very touching story and made so many people cry.
I can understand how you feel, totally. lol

If you ever have the chance I highly recommend them all.

The last episode of TV Show, that's totally understandable when your favorite show is about to be ended soon.

I remember when I read the old manga named "Magical no Taruruto-kun", The last episode is about everyone's graduated from Elementary school and moving on their own path.
The protagonist have to live his life alone without Taruruto who was his side kick since the first episode, which currently back to the magical world for giving another children a magical moment like he do to protagonist.

The last scene is when his friends ask"Why don't you summon Taruruto? You know the summoning spell, right?"(Which in fact, when magician being go back to their world, everyone should forget all of the memories of them, but their bond are so deep and makes everyone remember everything about Taruruto)

Protagonist response "...No, Their is still so many kids who's need of Taruruto to fulfill their dream just like me. If it's not for him I will still being a weak and lonely kid like I always do back there."
Friends : "......Don't you feel lonely?"
Protagonist : "..........I do, It would be a big lie if I say I'm not feeling lonely right now"
Protagonist : "But that's all right. Because I know deep down in our hearts we still are an irreplaceable friend to each other, we're buddy forever"

That last phrase made me cries a lot, What a really touching story.
Talking about this makes me want to re-read it all over again. lol

When I see the endings my mind accepts them, but my heart fills with sadness.

Sometimes it's not all about a sadness ending that made me crying, but also a tears that shed from being touched, which is a lot better. lol

I do this sometimes when I read stuff too. Especially when it ends but there's another part I haven't read yet. I felt like that now with the new love maintenance doujin

The first Haruneko doujinshi mades me cries a lot too, I remembered the first time I read, it's like someone's slicing an onion near me and made my eyes full of tears.

Crying is not always cause by the sadness, but also happened when being deeply touched too.

Last week I'm watching a clip video about a marriage between a couple that's been in relationship for 10 years and about to get marry, their marriage has been delay for 8 years due to Bride suddenly fallen Coma with unidentified disease, which make she sleeps without consciousness.

The groom has always waiting for her to regain her consciousness, even the parents of both sides said that he can give up and find someone instead, he still have hope and wait for her return all along, like he's been waiting forever.

The Bride finally regain her consciousness after the 6 years of sleeping, and take 2 more years for physical therapy. At last they can get marry like they always want, which been delayed for 8 years.

I cried a lot not because it's sad but it's a very touching story, and it's made me happy that his "waiting for her forever" now has been answered at last.
