Hello Dreamwalkers,
We hope everything is going great with each and everyone of you. Our team is still hard at work, keeping things under wraps for now.
Recently a few of us on the team had an idea. Some of you may have met a couple of us at conventions, promoting the game, or somewhere else, chatting your ear off about it. However there is still a lot of you who probably have no clue who the people behind Sanctum Polis really are.
So we've decided that over the next few weeks, every Friday, one of us will introduce ourselves over all of our social media, with a quick synopsis of who we are, what we do, and why we do it. This would also be a great time for you, the fans, to get to know us on a more personal level with any questions you may have.
So starting today, Friday the 13th and every subsequent Friday until we're done, keep a look out for our Featured Friday.
That being said, I'd like to ask our fellow Dreamwalkers a few questions. There's been a huge rise on games going the episodic route, from famous Telltale Games series like Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us, to other games like Life Is Strange, and more recently, Resident Evil Revelations 2. How do you all feel about this new trend in the industry? Do you like it, and if so why or why not?
Also, how do you feel about an RPG being episodic such as Final Fantasy IV: The After Years? Would you be open to play it, or are you hoping for a more open world where you can have complete access to most of the areas off the bat? We're taking all these questions into consideration and your input will help shape Sanctum Polis - Rest Eternal Memory in the direction we'd like it to be, guided by the fans. We look forward to hearing your responses and as always, thanks for all the support and helping us keep the dream alive.

While episodic games do succeed in building up tension and anticipation for the next chapter, it does create a form of waiting that some players may be more than anxious to sit through. A benefit to episodic games is that developers have extra time to revise and polish the following parts, checking feedback from previous chapters to see what they can improve on.
For me personally, I've enjoyed the episodic games that I've played, but I've only played them until all the parts had been released. I've never seen it done in an RPG, and I can only imagine a more negative result to that, especially considering how The After Years was received. But who knows?
The option of an open world to explore and interact with sounds very exciting. RPGs tend to fall under the linear trap, where the have a set path restricting players' options. With a broader setting, especially considering the game's own setting is a school, I feel that exploration as an added feature would be interesting to try out.
I'm excited to see the finished product. Keep up the amazing work!
