She snubbed it and went to go lay in the sun

hehe I suppose so...I don't know many cats that well so I just assumed some sort of attack usually transpired in these situations. I like your idea better ^u^

 I feel inspired.

 The mouse scurried through the house, the cat hard on her heels and certainly close enough to catch her if she really wanted to. The mouse was able to put a little space between them by dodging under furniture occasionally, but it never lasted long. Finally, she saw the door in front of her and made a break for freedom from under the coffee table, but the cat casually stepped over and closed it. Having nowhere left to run, the mouse found herself backed against the wall, the cat dropping down to hands-and-knees and prowling over closer.

 Before the mouse could make any sort of plea or beg for mercy, the cat abruptly stood up. “I’m bored now. I think I’m going to go take a nap.” The mouse watched in stunned silence as her pursuer leisurely sprawled on the couch, sunlight pouring over her from the window.

 Without opening the door to let her out first.

 …It was going to be a long day…
