This is cass's back story if you would like to read.


Cass or Jocassee Started life out as normal as possibly. He was born at home in the mountains of the blueridge. He has an older half brother(flint) on his mothers side, and a cuzin (jax)threw his father. His mother (stella)was a German Clydesdale , his father(hartwell) was an Native american paint horse.
His life from the very moment he was born, has been hard.This family was lower working class, in a poverty struck town. He mother knew something was wrong when he wouldn't cry. He was born with deformed vocal cords, leaving him with only the ablity to grunt and sigh. He had a rough childhood, not being able to talk to anyone or make friends. He was also born with a strange mark on his face that made it look like he was happy all the time. It made him the butt of many a joke. He became more reclusive and solitary. Everything a horse wasn't.
He wasn't always the piss and vinegar stallion he is now. Even with the tough childhood he was still happy and carefree. He became angry after his mother and father died in a house fire. He was a young stud when it happened right around the age of 14-15. He was testing the waters of life so to say. He had a close friend, a bisexual fox named dash. Both were seen as the outcasts in there high school. Dash and jocassee played around some being young adults. Nothing more than causal experimentation. Then his brother walked in an freaked out. Dash and cass are still good friends, they just don't talk about things.
Casses house was that of strong christian veiws. When his brother told on him SHIT HIT THE FAN. A fight broke out and dash was banned from the house. Cass refused to give up the only friend he had, and then his parents moved the family to a new location to "save his soul"
His brother had never really liked him to begin with, He saw him as the proof that his father has dead and never coming back. So typical sibling rivalry went from bad to worse. Flint was always trying to get the baby in trouble.
Thats when the trouble started. New school new bullys, and no friends. Dash and cass found ways to talk, but other than that it was a lonely life for cass the 6 months or so into the new home.At the 16 his parents died in a house fire. Cass was asleep when his brother pulled him from his room in the loft. Cass tryed despretly to get back to the house and save his parents, but his brother knew it was no use. They watched as the house burned to the ground. Cass naver forgave his brother for holding him back.
Social services tried to take cass away.Having no family to raise them they would have been separated , But the local community where they had grow up stepped up to raise both boys. Cass got to see dash again. His brother refused to accept it and beat the snot out of him almost every day. Making cass an angry boy and a fighter.
Cass was in and out of trouble from that moment on. He developed bad habits of self harms, drinking at an earlier age, and lots jail stays. Such events included almost freezing to death in snow after a black out from lose of blood.His brother found him, and brought him back. Almost drowning in the lake of his name sake. A local fisher pulling him back from the clear waters. Him passing it off as a bad slip. Most of the jail time was for D.U.I vandalism, P.D.C, and the worse being assault.
After years of hating each other the brothers split for a few years as cass tryed college. After falling measurably, cass came home to flints reformed self, the more loving, and caring side, the side that accepted anything. After years of beating, cass refused to share anything with his brother and hides his sexuality from him. That and anything else that he thinks with make him mad. They currently live in a double loft style home for just the too of them. His brother being a few years older than him, oays most of the bills, while cass brings in what he can.

He is based on a darker edge to my personality. He is my depressive side were as dash is the manic. Alot of the thing that make Cass who he is make me who i am. His markings around his face are symbolic of struggle and him being the flip side. The white around his eye is a black eye, and the white smile around his nose is a bloody nose. His eyes are red from the amount of crying , underneath the anger. I gave him draft feathers to hit the cutting on his wrists and ankles.
