I don't hate PC gaming...but what I don't like is PC advocates who keep saying "I bet it looks good on PC", which strikes me as both rhetorical and smug. In addition, the troublesome word 'good' can really be translated into meaning 'graphics'. I've always taken issue with the notion that graphics alone should sell a game cause it's far too easy to be snake-charmed by that and completely miss the other flaws (I'm looking at you The Order 1886)
In addition, PC advocates may not realize that PC gaming is an expensive luxury, cause it truly is; high-end graphics cards alone can be in the 3 digits. And even if you bought a PC with all the bells and whistles installed in it, that is a price tag that could easily reach $2,000 or more.
Again, I don't hate PC gaming...if there is anything for me to hate on, its advocating the buying of a PC solely...and purely just to play games with better graphic fidelity. If one could peddle other advantages for PC other than graphics, I'd be more welcoming of it...

Hey!
This post was obviously poking some fun at both sides. But I must say that consoles have lost their reason for existence. Basically most of them are small computers by now that lack the flexibility of the actual PC.
If you, for example, take a look at what Valve is doing with SteamOS you will see that it's a very good move. Basically they're allowing people to build computers as small as any other console manufacturer and giving the possibility to create cross device games with ease. With Steam OS you don't have to buy your game twice to play on PC AND your living room / console PC
It's also simply not true that gaming on a PC is an expensive luxury. Yes, gaming at 60FPS@4K is a feat reserved to those who play on several thousand dollar machines. But it's been proven several times that PCs outperform the XBone and PS4 at the same price point.
